Here is a current photo of my dart pump. I just took it about 5 minutes ago. Chris said some salt creep was "normal". Does this appear to be a "normal" amount of salt creep?

i second the ReeFlo all their low speed pumps are super quiet, the Dart would be my recommendation over the Snapper, dialed back to 1200gph it lowers the wattage draw and you've got the option to increase flow if desired later and the price difference is minuscule.
I've got a few Iwaki's too and they are about twice as loud as my Sequence.

A sequence dart doing 1200gph is pulling like 100w. Buy a smaller pump.

the snapper is a better option if he is worried about heat or wattage. obviously a pump that uses less wattage will introduce less heat although they run external and tend not to introduce much anyways. If he plans on upgrading to a bigger tank in the future it's kinda a no brainer just to buy the dart now.

the Dart and the Snapper both use the same 1/8 HP Baldor motor.

First off they don't use a baldor motor they use an AO Smith motor ............

Double the energy is maybe a bit much, but I haven't seen anything else at 1200 gph for less than 130W, and most are more.
