clam dip?

I am thinking about picking up a clam at my LFS. He has been getting some nice looking ones in. Either a Derasa or Squamosa.
The store keeps a lot of different corals, clams in this one tank. I was wondering if there is a safe or recomended way to dip a clam before putting in my main tank. I don't want to introduce any snails, flat worms or other bad boys. I could set up a 10 g quarantine tank but am afraid that the clam would not like only 30watts of light for several weeks.
Any suggestions?? Thanks:)

OK, what do you do when a clam follows you home from the store and you ask "Can I keep him"? Put him right in the tank after acclimate, QT him or give him a bath?:D

Well you don't want to normally dip a clam unless they are show signs of mantle pinching disease??

OK, Thanks, If I QT him in a 10g tank with 30w of blinding light, do you think he will be OK if put up on a rack close to the surface?
