Clam disappeared?

I wish the kid at the store wouldve mentioned staying away from small ones. Lesson learned I guess. There's definitely no mantis in there. Have a few tiny hermits and a peppermint. Would a conch have done it?
 
You'd be surprised how fragile the little maxima (or for that matter crocea or derasa) clams are. It could have been on-edge before you put it in your tank, and the lack of light and phytoplankton in it caused it's premature death. When they're that small, I have to disagree with Tom, they can go fast.

I don't think it suffered from lack of light, but phyto is very possible. My girlfriend bought me a crocea to replace it and it is doing fantastic as of 1 week. Hopefully it continues this way
