Clam for a bare bottom tank

Is there a species of clam that will handle a bare bottom setup. im doing a SPS tank but I love the color of clams, but hate the mess of sand with this much flow. 1200 GPH in 20 gallons of water. (Over kill? maybe!, but everything is happy)
Any thoughts even if its to say Im carzy for asking would be great.

If you are that worried, you could always get a flat piece of LR rubble and let it attach to it. Thats what I did with my Crocea, and at one point a Maxima. Works great IMHO

Ok thank. I had a hippopus(sp) clam befor and loved how it looked but it died in the move. Now i have a much more sutable light and want another one.

I would definately stick it on some type of live rock, but with that in mind I would get a c rocea or a maxima only and leave out the other sand dwelling clams like the gigas, derasa, hippo., and the squamosa.

I would think that that would be way to much flow for a clam unless you found a little niche for it fit in and be somewhat protected.

You'd be surprised at what a crocea and maxima usually deal with. They're shallow water clams, so they can take a slight flow beating. My clams get a little flap here and there, and they are doing very well :)

I have one realitly dead area for movment and thats were it will go. Now I just have to find one. Every store i call only has 4 and 5 inch clams.... Sooner or latter.
