Clam hurting

Hey everyone, i have had a crocea clam in my tank for a little over 3 months now. It has dont great until today. It has retracted its mantle extremely far into its shell. But it isnt tightly shut, it just looks like it is gaping open. and what worries me is that my cleaner shrimp is picking at it and wouldnt leave it a lone till i scared him away with a turkey baster.

I just did a 10% water change and started to run some fresh carbon. I will test the parameters tonight, but they should be on the money, the tank is pretty well established.

what could be wrong with my clam besides water parameters out of whack?

the cleaner shrimp is not a good sign...

what's your fish invert list?

how do you maintain Ca and Alk?

what and how do you dose??

can yo post a pic?

my fish invert list is,

Tomato clown
Mandarin
Coris Wrasse
BTA
Cleaner shrimp
emerald crab
then snails and hermits

I dose using a two part solution.

I will work on the pic now.

agreed with above about the cleaner shrimp, cleaner shrimps are attracted to dead and decaying tissue, which sounds like what may be going on with your clam. A picture would really help, but unfortunatly it sounds as if your clam may have died.

I had a 1" crocea that was pretty beat up and 2 weeks latter still not dead if your Paramters are good and you feed DTs food you should be able to bring them back. Have not lost one yet.
