clam info and books

Daniel's is a great book. The only "but" I have against it is that it was written more than 10 years ago. There's a new book written by James Fatherre (excuse me if I misspelled the name) that just came out. My copy is in transit, so I really can't tell you if I like it. Should know soon though. :D

I got my copy from www.clamsdirect.com , as always, Barry is great to work with.

Another great source but also more than 10 years old by now is The Reef Aquarium (vol. 1) from Delbeek and Sprung.

Have you checked the threads at the top of this forum? They contain lots of links.

yeah I agree daniels book is great, possibly more advanced as far as almost being too scientific for me.
The new book by Fatheree is great i got mine at MACNA the day it came out :D
Fatheree's book has tons of great photos, and more up to date info as far as lighting, feeding ideas e.t.c.
Really though its all about studying clams in your tank and learning that way, the stuff in the books is all pretty much the same things you already would know about keeping clams or any other coral in a reef tank. But its a great reference and the pictures are really nice quality.

I have both books and they are awesome. Knops book is great, but not as geared to the hobby. It is intended more for the biology aspects and less for husbandry but all of the information is great. This book was required for my molluscan bio class during study abroad too. Knops book is out of print as well like Barry stated.

Fatherres book is good too... if I had to choose one for the hobby it would be this one. Pictures are great and information is very up to date.

If you have to choose pick Fatherres but why choose?
