Clam Lighting and Placement?

I have a 75G w/4-5" dsb and 100lbs lr. I have Vho...but I have a ton of vho. A 6 bulb combination totalling 630 watts on twin ballasts. 2 110 watt 50/50's, 2 95 watt 50/50's, and 2 110 watt super actinics. Am I restricted to Squamosa with this set-up, or are there other types of clams I could keep?

You should be perfectly fine with a Squamosa or Desera. They should be kepth in the sand bed. They grow fairly fast and large so be aware of that.

Contrary to popular belief, I would think youd be fine with Crocea's too.

I'm keeping two in a 55 gal with 330 watts VHO, 2 Actinic, and one 50/50. A little more frequent Phyto feeding seems to help, but both of mine seem happy as clams (pardon the pun).

Craig-

I am keeping a 3" Crocea in my 45H under 285w of VHO. It has been in the tank for a couple of months and is growing nicely. I really think the keys are placement in tank and starting with a very healthy clam versus a gaping or closed up specimen. Mine is actually toward the bottom, about 24" from the lights. I am using 2:1 actinic white to actinic blue. He is very alert and his mantle looks awesome.
