Clam not looking good...

Hey guys ... I have about a 3-4" crocea that I have had for about a month. At first it was doing great, no problems at all. Then, out of the blue its mantle started to curl and it seems as though there is some stringy mucousy stuff coming off of it. Color looks good, it's not gaping, and there doesn't seem to be anything else wrong with it other than that. Tank params are good, but I am going to do a 10gal water change today on a 50gal to see if that helps. Just wanted to see if anyone knows what it is? Thanks!

what are parameters? how often do you feed? what are you feeding? are there any fish bothering the clam?

Mines doing the same. 3-4" crocea, few weeks old. Don't believe it's a parameter problem w/ me (15 or so sps colonies doing great).

This morning my halides came on before my actinics (my fault) and the clam excreted a ton of mucus. It's also been shriveled up for several days.

Worried about this affecting sps/other inhabitants. When to pull it?

Julio: parameters are as follows:

pH: 8.2
Amm: 0
Trites: 0
Trates: < 5 (undetectable on my test)
Ca: 410
Alk: 7.1 dKH
Mg: unknown

Other than that everything else in the tank is doing great ... I have to say though, I did a large water change the other day and the clam looks better, but not completely healed. It's not as curled any more, but there is still a little bit of the mucous stringing off.

Have you looked for pyramid snails? I have no idea what they look like but supp. aren't good. I'm going to check mine.
