clam opened wide?

one of my small clams is opened more than usual it is about 2 in and the mouth is opened 1/2 inch an the inside is recedeing instead of commin to the lip of the clam any ideas?

Sounds like it's not getting the right conditions. Could be not enough light, not enough food, alk/ca problems, etc.
