So whats the record for the biggest clam kept in a tank for a considerably long period of time? And who has kept them?

I just read a post that said Squamosa was 16"

I also remeber reading Richard Harker had a tank lit via sunlight that grew some record size clams.

I dont know if this is holds the record but Wayne Shang has a gigas that was the last time reported 22" and has had it for over ten years. I have one that is 15" but only had it for 4 years.

AFIK this is one of the oldest (first)cultured clams, its over 20 years old and is kept at the Waikiki Aquarium

I have a Derasa at about 18", I have had it for 5 years

How large was it when you got it five years ago (or how much did it grow in 5 years?)

I've seen a Derasa or Squamosa, can't remember which, that reached both ends of a 180g (24")

I have seen clams diving in the Solamons in excess of 3'. I am also sorry to say that I have seen a whold lagoon full of empty shells do to pirate fishing boats collecting the meat.
