I had a clam spawning event a couple of weeks ago. I only posted it in our local form at the time, because I didn't really have much to provide that hadn't been posted previously in this forum.
However, I finally got the time today to edit the video I got that night and have added it to my original post . I don't remember seeing any spawning video posted here before, so I'll thought you all might enjoy the video clips.
(Incidentally, both clams are doing fine 17 days after the event--contrary to many posts suggesting that death was imminent and inevitable.)
(The T. derasa is 10" from tip to tip, directly on the bottom (very, very shallow sand) of a 140 gallon tank. The T. crocea is, of course, much smaller--just under 4", in the same tank but anchored to a rock about 10" from the surface. Lighting is provided by six 4' (54w) T5 HO bulbs, overdriven with Icecap ballasts. Feeding with a variety of phytoplankton products--primarily D.T.'s--3x per week.)
