Clams and diseases

I've recently been hearing from friends and store owners alike that Clams that find their way into our aquariums generally have alot of diseases....any truth to this? anyone with experience with this? I'm setting up a 125g reef within the next 2 weeks and I'm planning on what type of set up I want. Clams and SPS were the intitial interests, but now I'm a little paranoid. Advice please.

Yes, the clam disease exists and it's not so good. Be careful and buy strictly farm raised clams. Do the search for more information.
