Clams dying!

try this, cut the top off of a two liter bottle (clear) and drill holes in it for flow and place it over the clam

You got it. I will update you tomorrow, although right now the clam is closed up 90% and doesn't move at all so I hope it's not dead already.

I would still watch that yellow coris wrasse. My radiant wrasse all of sudden got the urge to bite the mantles of mine to get it to retract so it could scope out the scutes at the top of shell for critters. JUst a thought. Good luck.

I kept it covered over night. Just took a look and it's dead.

If it was a fish nipping, why would it pick at only one clam?

sorry about your loss man.. i'm going through the same thing right now. just had one clam go down the tubes and my other that i've had for over a year is starting to look bad now and the bysal threads are gone... I have a real issue with being able to see right through my clam when Im looking down the intake opening....

My two remaing maximas seem to be doing ok so far, we'll see. I still wish I knew what happened.

<<<---------Keeping fingers crossed.

here's your problem, Pink tail trigger, they are cute and play nice for a while then they turn your clams into a clam chowder, it's part of there diet , I thought every one knew that.
