Clams under 14K lights.

Do they grow well under this temperature of light, or will their colors change? What are your experiences 14K users?

I have 2 250W metal halides using 14k Phoenix bulbs and all my clams are growing well under this spectrum. I have one derasa, one maxima, and three croceas sitting on the sandbed in a 20 inch deep tank and none of them have lost their coloration.

IMO clams can grow under any kind of lighting as long as the wattage is sufficient for these specimens.

Don't quote me on this but I seem to recall the reeflux 14K out performed many of the 10k bulbs on Sanjays tests. (for par)

i don't believe he even tested the 14k reeflux, just regular coralvue 14k

there is no ReefLux 14k's....only 10K&12K, neither have great PAR, but very good color-IMO
-i use 2x250W ReefLux 12K's and have a Maxima doing greaton sand bed of my 120g

Here is a picture of my crocea under pheonix 14k's its mantle actually is larger now than when this picture was taken about a month ago.

That is a beautiful clam-I love the uniform blue color. I have a Phoenix 14k as well, so thank you everyone for your replies so far.

I use a single 175w 14K Hamilton... have a Crocea that has grown a lot in the last month or so.. no other supplements other than B-Ionic
