Clanure's JBJ Nano 24g with 28g quad hood/light

Remember to put xenia somewhere that they can't walk to an area that you don't want them to be in. They will grow, multiply, and walk themselves up your rockwork towards the top of your tank.

You can use this to your advantage and turn them into a type of refugium/nutrient export (I used to throw them away because there was so much of them. Couldn't even trade them in to the LFS anymore!)

This is what happens if you're not careful (not my tank, just a pic off of RC):

One other question:

Would 'the package' from TBS for a 15 gallon be adequate? In looking at their thread in the vendors section, you get a lot of sand/rock (too much?) when you buy the correct size.

Do you think I will need to supplement it with something?

Yes I think he gives almost too much but his rock is pretty darn dense so it might weigh a bit more. I would rather have too much then not enough as you can smash some of the rock for rubble in the rear chambers.

I would go for the 20 over the 15. You might need mroe sand depending on how deep of a base you want but that shoudl probably do. Personally if I were doing it I would get the 25 and deal with a bit of extra if I had any. The more rock you have the more options you have for aquascape. The sand is breaming with life too so keep that in mind.

Just note that the base shipping charge is $90 and he normally sends in 2 parts so you will have to make 2 trips to the local air freight office. Totally worth it though.

His new man made rock looks incredible as well and is full of life even after only 3 months he has had it. D2mini recently got some and it looks awesome.

Finally some parts started to arrive :spin1:

So far:

So, on with the cleanup work. Here's what I started with:

<a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/31776985@N07/18227951814" title="DSC01881 by clanure, on Flickr"><img src="https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5548/18227951814_3d3b6eef42_z.jpg" width="640" height="480" alt="DSC01881"></a>

First things first, removing the screws. No surprise, they're rusted and a few had stripped heads. Was able to get them out though:

<a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/31776985@N07/18948557590" title="DSC01884 by clanure, on Flickr"><img src="https://c4.staticflickr.com/4/3868/18948557590_eb7abc0529_z.jpg" width="640" height="480" alt="DSC01884"></a>

Installing the new bulb:

<a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/31776985@N07/19130541672" title="DSC01883 by clanure, on Flickr"><img src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/360/19130541672_d0607f7498_z.jpg" width="640" height="480" alt="DSC01883"></a>

Picked up some new screws at Lowe's:

<a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/31776985@N07/18948670328" title="DSC01885 by clanure, on Flickr"><img src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/461/18948670328_95913dc01b_z.jpg" width="640" height="480" alt="DSC01885"></a>

And voila:

<a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/31776985@N07/19136269805" title="DSC01886 by clanure, on Flickr"><img src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/553/19136269805_28c78dbc4b_z.jpg" width="640" height="480" alt="DSC01886"></a>

Looks really good and should really let the new bulb shine. Also got the stand and tank in their final location at my Dad's.

Skimmer, media, and wavemakers will be here on Friday, then the fun can really begin.
