it would be hard to justify $3500 on a fish, but if there were any fish to do it for, this might be it. (they have 2 of them, this is just a link to one)

ill buy a couple,

aint nuthin but a G-thang....

worse comes to worse, "so honey, how does that 3500$ sushi roll taste?"

There have been zero imported (legally at least) in the last few years. This shipment was from a one time permit. supply and demand :) (im not part of the demand at that price however)

I don't see how it can be worth $3,500.

Nice fish but that price is rediculous.

Very, very limited importing for one. They are also a very deepwater species which takes the divers alot of decompression time to bring to the surface.

Is it worth it to me? No. I can see however whhy it is such an expensive fish.

Does anybody know the nuances of keeping these fish? $3500 is half the battle, keeping them alive and happy is the other half.

I have found a source for Leafy Seadragons. I can pick up a couple of them tomorrow, if I want to. A couple months from now when they are dead, I will be stuck with buying more or giving up on the idea. Honestly, I would never consider it.

As far as these little guys go, I see this as one of those fish that should be left in the sea and kept by only a select few public aquariums for display and captive breeding. They are amazingly beautiful, but should be left alone.

"Clarion Angel is a beautiful rare Angelfish,
found almost exclusively around Clarion Island
in the eastern Pacific, SW of Baja California.
It is listed as endangered because the one island
is the only gene pool of the species.
Occasional wanderers elsewhere are presumed to
have originated at Clarion Island.
One man-made disaster could wipe them out. "
