I've been there 3 times and yes, they are a little overpriced but the service I got is what turned me away from them!?!?

I've never had an issue with the service from them.

This really sucks. Jan's the reason I'm in this hobby. Her store & her, are where & why I got into this hobby. I hate to see honesty and true caring going out. Her prices may have been above some of the others, But if you know anything about this hobby, then you know why. She medicated all of her livestock. She wouldn't sell a sick fish or dieing coral. Losing CPE will be a major loss to ST. Louis area hobbiest. Really sorry to see you go Jan :(

Maybe she can hang in there for enough time to see things turn around and keep the place.

I have to agree with reeferbust. The prices didn't bother me so much as the service. I was there about 4-5 times over the last several years and each time the service was WAY less than stellar. Once I couldn't get anybody in the place to bag me up a fish so I left. Still I hate to see any business close in our hobby. Competition is good for all of us I think.

Sounds like Reeforbust and scbadiver need to buy the place so the rest of us can continue going there, and they can fix what they feel is wrong with it.

i'm sure her slightly elevated prices have something to do with her location...
i think i'll try and and pick up an sps this weekend though... :D
that should keep her open...

Page 2:D and don't forget the last pizza night at CPE on Thursday, November 13th!

This is too bad. Jan got me into the hobby 5 years ago and I have spent a lot of time there. However, with 40 closed I never visit. I have too imagine that 40 closing, the economy and her high rent area, that it was like a perfect storm. That is too bad.
