Clean Hands?

So, as I go through the day doing chores and just general activities that may deal with chemicals, such as filling the lawnmower up with fuel, washing cars, dishes, painting, ETC; I wonder what is the proper way to clean your hands before dealing with an aquarium?

I've been doing it for years with no ill effects. I just make sure to completely rinse all feel of soap residue on my hands. I feel like using any other liquid hand soap might be a little more toxic with the added perfumes/scents

what linkinreef said except i use palmolive original(green liquid), been safe for me for 4+ yrs

I'm a Commercial Refrigeration Tech and have been using Dawn to wash my hands and putting my hands in my tanks daily and have yet to have any issues. There is no better soap out there better than Dawn at removing grease and oil residues.

Thank you for the advice, I was curious how everyone else dealt with the issue. Personally I seem to like the "wash and rinse well" approach, and it seems like this approach can work. No matter the activity, I prefer the "hands on" approach :)

I wash hands/arms in any dish soap and after a thorough hot water rinse I spray the washed area with vinegar and rinse again. I keep vinegar in a spray bottle at the laundry room sink. Doing it for years with no notable ill effects.

Wash and rinse well. Gloves are better for you and the animals in our tank as noted above.

I find the best is to use unscented soaps. Also worth considering whatever body wash you use since most of us wind up with water up to our armpits...
