So i have a 72 g. ...with 2 camel shrimp.and 2 huge mexican turbos. I am starting to see areas of buildup in the sand bed. Ive been looking at these pre packaged clean up crews online and im not all that sold on them....what does everyone use when it comes to livestock for a clean up crew? i know lots of snails and variouscrabs but anyone have specific types they like or that wokr better?
Clean up crew...recomendations?

Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought that camel shrimp picked at coral? Are you sure they aren't peppermints? If so, no worries. If they really are camels and you haven't had any problems, then maybe I'm wrong.
I'd agree with Chris on the crew and #'s. You can always add on, but you don't want stuff dieing off because they don't have anything to munch on.

I have a 55 gallon and bought the clean up crew from www.garf.org even if you dont buy from them they list what you would need for the size. I had done a big water change and had algae bloom bigtime on all sides of the tank.. bought their recommened package and also got their garf grunge and in two weeks not a spot of algea on the glass and hasnt been since.. just my experience with them.

Wasn't trying to point out the negative, just wanted to make sure you know... My house is a shrimp mecca (6 peppermints, 2 cleaners, 3 sexi shrimp, 1 coral banded shrimp, and 1 Randall's shrimp) and I've never gotten camel shrimps because they have a bad rap. And, once again, Chris is right about trapping them. I've tried to trap fish before and have repeatedly caught shrimp until I've become frustrated. You could probably cut the top off of a sode bottle, invert it into the bottom, and fill it with food. Submerge it for a while and I'm sure you'll catch them.
