One of my cleaners is carrying eggs. i would like to raise them if possible. Could anyone tell me how? and how long before she lays them?

Currently in my tank i have

2 cleaners
1 yellow tank
2 clowns
alot of dime size stars
a banded star
1 emerald
a few turbos/ast
5 red leg.

Also an assortment of corals ofc.

Will these little shrimp survive in my tank? Do i need to separate into a different tank?

Please help!

Good luck but difficult is an understatement. Their is a book out on Raising & Training your Peppermint Shrimp which has a lot of info on it. I was able to breed & raise 2 peppermint shrimp to adults but not worth the hassle.

the shrimp or other fish may eat eggs, be careful, take her to a different tank after lay egg, put her back to the main tank

Cleaner shrimp do not lay eggs in the true sense of the word. They are hermaphrodite so both are male and female and fertilize each other's eggs. They will carry the eggs in their shells then transfer them to their legs when mature and from there they will hatch into the water column during lights out. I have a pair in my DT and they are always carrying eggs.

my peppermint shrimp just had larvae and looks to be carrying eggs again, I don't think I will try an raise them myself, not the peps anyway. Watch after he lights go out in the tank, I noticed what I though was a big cloud but the looked closer at it and noticed they was shrimp, then I kicked on the lights and let the tank has a midnight snack. I also had turned return pump off keeping them in the tank longer.. Once I kicked pump back on they was gone. Haven't seen any since.
