Cleaner Shrimp NOT cleaning fish

I didn't know the proper place for this thread... thought I'd start here. Sorry if its in the wrong section of this forum

I bought 3 cleaner shrimp... the fish are basically laying down in front of the cleaner shrimp. The cleaner shrimp just turn away.

Any idea why they're not cleaning???

Well, if they're mantis shrimp, I guess that would explain it!

Try getting some spearers, they'll clean your fish right up!!

LOL!!! That's some funny s*it right there!!
But, seriously, don't listen to Dan... your posting in the wrong forum. Try the "Other Inverts" forum! This one is dedicated to the mantis, not the cleaner!

I couldn't resist!! Was that bad karma?

For the record, I have three cleaner shrimp in my reef (along with a pistol/goby pair). The shrimp are skunk cleaners and are eager to do their "cleaning thang". The fish tend to run away from the harassment, though.

I have a peppermint that was purchased to eat aiptasia...he doesn't (I know that only half of them do, it was a gamble).
Now I have a MASSIVE peppermint shrimp hanging out. At least he eats leftover food that the fish don't get to.

On a similar note of mantis/fish.

I have offered to lend one of my P cilata out to local guys to get rid of those pesky damsels that they added for cycling. Nobody was amused quite as much as I was.

:D
