Cleaner Shrimp

About how often should my cleaner shrimp molt? he seems to molt right after I do a water change. I do add Iodine and calcium to the tank. He has molted other times without a water change but it seems like clock work he will after a water change.

Very common for them to molt after a water change or introduction into a new tank.

Ok thanks. Last month he molted twice in like 10 days! I hope that means he is growing as well.

It usually means they're growing.

Are you testing for the iodine that you're adding? It's very easy to overdose Iodine and kill lots of stuff in your tank. The crustaceans should be getting it in their DIET not necessarily from the water (try crab pellets or other food made specifically for crustaceans). The amounts of Iodine needed in the water should be replenished by your water changes with fresh saltwater.
