Cleaner shrimp?

Hey all, So yesterday I went and bought a cleaner shrimp. I drip acclimated it for 30-40 minutes. I added him and everything was fine it was just cruzing around check stuff out. All my parameters are fine. Salinity is at 1.024. When I woke up this morning it was at the bottom not moving. I have a sea cucumber, a bunch of hermits and a lot of corals and they are all doing great. I just want to know what could have happened? What did I do wrong? Thanks for the help.

Many times nothing. Could have just been to much stress in the last few weeks for it. Possibly due to shipping.

My shrimp molts about every 6weeks.

When you put him in, did you hand him a squeegee and a spray bottle of Windex and tell him to start with the big pane of glass in the front? If not, it may have been stress from shipping.

I have had TERRIBLE luck with cleaner shrimp in my new tank with absolutely no reason I could find.

Tender, sensitive maybe?

Following along, would love to know why my survival is 1/3!

next time take a salinity reading from the the lfs water in the bag--sometimes its as low as 1.018 so you need to acclimate it for much longer.
When this occurs I put them in a qt and bring the salinity up to 1.026 over 12 hours.

No it definitely didn't molt. It was the whole body at the bottom. I think i will have to do what capn_hylinur suggested and just acclimate for longer period. Thanks

everyone has been saying how easy they are to kill and what not, i have a sunk and a fire in my 65 and with both I floated the bag for about 20-30 min and then driped for maybe 20 min then then dropped them in there and they still kicking today. so I would say stress.

Sometimes they just hang out and not move for a while. Mine did that all the time.

I used to have on in my tank but I took him out after constantly noticing that he was picking through all my corals and not making the corals very happy.....and also taking food from my GBTA. It got old after a while

All my shrimp take food from my BTA. Very annoying. I have to put pellets next to the BTA when I feed him so they'll leave the BTA alone.
