Cleaning glass frequency

How often do you need to clean your glass or acrylic (which ever the case may be) of algae? I find I have to scape a thin layer about every three days. Is this typical?

I do my front glass about every two days. If I don't coralline grows on it and it's a pain to get off the front.

A healthy tank produces that sort of thing. It gets better as a tank ages, but you still have to scrape. A mag float is a big help. It's why I prefer glass, though: you can use a razor blade on glass when it gets bad.

I usually have to clean the glass about every other day. I think it is pretty typical in most saltwater aquariums.

I like to see a healthy diatom growth on the glass that requires a scraping every couple days. Diatoms prevent other nuisance algaes and scraping the glass feeds the corals.

Same, every couple of days. Dosing phyto seems to increase the interval between cleanings though. Phyto is competing with algaes for nutrients I guess.
