cleaning in vinegar?

if I pour like 2 gallons of vinegar in a bucket and RUN my 6101 in it, will it hurt anything?

Is straight vinegar needed or would diluted also work?
I am trying get all the gunk and coraline off it.

Straight vineger will dissolve the build up faster and if you have more buildup. No need to run the pump. But take it apart and pull the impeller out to get that area clean too.

I wouldn't run it in straight vinegar for more than 2hrs. Diluted 50/50 you could run it for a day or so. The reason is that the straight vinegar seems to cause the cord and oring to deform, especially as it warms up from the pump running
