Cleaning Water Storage Containers

I'm in the process of designing a small fish room that will house the equipment for my upcoming 90g and one thing I'm wondering about is being able to empty and rinse the top up/water change containers.

Is this something that I should expect to do semi regularly? How do you guys do this? Rinse it like a bucket (fill then tip and drain)? I'm looking for suggestions.

I have the possibility of having the containers under my stairs (we're still renovating that area), but getting them out to rinse would be virtually impossible once they are in.

Thanks,
Harry

I clean mine out when I have the chance (every couple years maybe?) or if something happens and I have to move it, like last Friday when the furnace got installed. My barrel sits right next to it and would have been in the way so I rinsed it well. Good for another year (or 2)

I have brute trash bins as a water container and I clean them whenever there is some visible things in the container. Happens about once every two years. The New saltwater bücket gets a slime Or a beige residue when it sits for a long time. I usually take them outside and use a garden hose and my fish room brush.

There will come a time when you will have to remove them for some reason or another, so best to design with that in mind (IMO).

Michael

Make sure 'virtually impossible' doesn't mean 'completely impossible'.
