Clicking 6101's

Hi - When in feed mode with my 7095, my 6101's seem to click every few seconds when they activate briefly to keep the fish out. Is there a way to stop the clicking.

Thanks in advance,
Eric

A soft click would be normal and hard to reduce, if the click is fairly pronounced, it may be that the bushing 3000.620 is worn or that the center hole of the magnet or the upper bearing 3000.610 is clogged with calcium and not enough water is present to lubricate and cushion the moving parts. It could also be that the oring 3000.612 is crusted over or compressed.

Thanks Roger. Would you happen to have the part number for the propeller too? One of them seems to be almost disintegrating, it's strange, but the black plastic seems to rub off when I clean it.

This plastic is a a mix of carbon, glass fibers and plastic and when the outer plastic abrades a lot of carbon is released. My suggestion would be a new drive unit, 6100.700, I am out of stock but both Premium Aquatics and Heartland Aquarium Supply should have these in stock, Heartland is an LFS in Battle Creek MI but they do sell mail order.
