clip and reconnect?

hi Roger
well i bit the bullet and put the 6000 stream into my 2x2x2 cube. no substrate, and i have to say its done wonders for water flow. by no means overkill. even the fish are playing infront of it :)

i've hit a bit of a wiring snag. all my wires run in a dry tube so that no wires are visable in the tank at all. i'm wondering if i could clip the wires on my 2 7240s and my stream so i would have a wire joint above the tank to facilitate cleaning.

would i be better ordering specific connectors from you guys or do you have another suggestion?

also, i need to order 2 replacement brackets for hanging float switches (the little sliding holders and the platforms) as well as the suctioncup and pole(great discription i know) spacers for when your hanging powerheads from euro bracing.

thanks for the updates, and if that all makes sense, i'd appreciate it if you'd put my name on it and throw it in yer next box to preuss.

I wouldn't advice doing this as such connections are extremely prone to failure and water damage and could potentially ruin the pump and/or driver. I have never been pleased with the results when someone has made this modification. You can unplug the pump from the driver but have to be very careful to not get the plug wet or the circuit board.

ok. so the biggest catch is waterproofing the connection.
in my setup, if i have to remove a pump, i have to remove every cable i have running to the top of the tank. so i think i may try reassemblin the the tunze gear on top of the stand.
