What causes an anenome to undergo the proces of cloning itself?

One of two things;

Stress --- it is a last ditch effort to clone itself in hopes that the clone will find better conditions.

Or, conditions are very good, and it has the extra "energy" that it takes to clone itself.

I think it is the second one. Well, i hope it is. My conditions are perfect. My bioload is small just the two clowns in a 60 gal. with a 40 gal. sump/ refugium. Other not so hardy corals, starfish and sponges are doing great.
