Closed Loop intake question?

I'm putting together a 60 Gal cube. 24" Square.

Want it to be a BTA tank with a pair of Percs.

What do you guys think of a closed loop intake centered on the back face of the tank? I am considering a 2" hole and a shallow dome shaped intake cover for a 1200 gph flow. Am I asking for trouble? Is it a nem death trap?

The overflow box will be 12W x 6D x 6T directly over the intake and the CL outputs will be to the sides of this box near the top of the tank. All this on the back face.

Does not need to be such a big hole. However, I would use perforated tube of 6-10 inches as intake. BTA wander a lot and it would not have any problem cover and 2 inches dome.
In the past I used the screen tube came with my overflow and convert it into a intake screen. 10 inches long and 1.5 inches in diameter. There was no mortality at all. Two of this for my 4500gph pump. Use an elbow and just point it down to the bottom of the tank.

OK so the name of the game is increase surface area of the intake cover so that the nem can't cover it completely and can withstand the gentle flow that they do obstruct.

I think your second statement was meant to say that the BTA could easily engulf the cover I first specified?

I like the 2" hole because that would just mean a more gentle flow all around.

I think I'll elbow it upward and run it up under the overflow box. It might be a little more visible but I will have a big shadow there anyhow (ie it won't be taking up precious lighted space for nems and corals).
