Closed loop system

I have a 210 gallon tank with a center overflow. My plan is to wrap the overflow with a rock wall that will have a built-in closed loop system made from 1" PVC with holes drilled in.

Can anyone tell me if I should use a DCS6000, 9000, or 12,000 for this project? I'm thinking about using one of these pumps since they allow for variable speeds. That will let me test the flow a little.

OR

Not sure if this will work, but I have a mag9 I can use and can hook up to the Apex. Can anyone tell me if the Apex can control the speed of the pump? If so, this could be a better idea 'cause I can set it to change the speeds throughout the day.

Thoughts?

I have always used Dolphin pumps or Reeflo Dart pumps with my closed loop systems. If you are only having two inlets Reeflo has a new pump for smaller plumbed close loop systems. Myself I would not rely on DC pumps for my closed loop but others may like them for this option?

+1 on the reeflo dart.
Thats what I'm using on my 180 room divider with the center overflow that's just like yours. I have some pics in my albums if you want to take a look. I'm really happy with it.
Post some pics if you wrap the overflow. Something I wish I had done when I was first setting up mine.

I use a DART for my 150 also. I'm not sure there's a better pump out there for moving large volumes at low pressure. That being said, I also keep a spare on hand for when (not if) the seals start leaking (about yearly, IME). Whatever pump you decide on, I would suggest using true union valves on both sides so that you can easily take it off line for maintenance.

I'm going to post a pic of my overflow with the PVC closed loop. I would love to hear thoughts on what size pump to use/what gph!

Quick hijack, sorry.
For all you Reeflo users, you can get the seals at a pool/spa store for $15. They aren't salt water approved, but if you change them regularly it really doesn't matter.

Wow! thanks for the heads up!!! I never even thought of looking there.

Here is a pic of the closed loop on egg crate that will be wrapped around the center overflow. I'm hoping to get the rock on it today. Feel free to ask questions! I'll try to come up with an answer but I'm kinda going day by day (week by week) with this one.
