Clouded glass

I bought a 55 gallon a few weeks ago cheap because the glass was cloudy... i figured soaking the sides with vinegar and light scrubbing with a magic eraser or brush might help... tried both and it didn't work... i soaked the one side for over 12 hours.... i have read on some sites that people have used clr to remove this type of build up.... does anyone else have any recommendations.....

I tried CLR once on my old fresh water glass lids after attempting the razor blade, vinegar, etc. and it really didn't do much better than the long vinegar soak. The glass gets etched to a point at times nothing will work. If the 12hr. vinegar soak didn't do it for you I doubt CLR would help much. My humble 2 cents...
