Hello,
I have a perculas clown baby and a young yellow tang that has cloudy white haze over thier eyes and they have cottony patches on thier bodies and they are breathing rapidly. As of now they are swimming and eating ok, but I am afraid there's nothing I can do to save them. They are in my reef tank so I don't think I can treat them.can anyone tell me what's wrong with them and is there anything I can do for them ? And once they pass away , what are the chances of new fish catching this? And if so how long should I keep the tank empty of fish?
Thanks mike

Most likely a heavy fluke infestation, purchase some Prozi pro. Few threads below is a thread titled mysterious fish deaths. Read through it and see if you are experiencing the same problems.

I'm no expert, but I treated them with API general cure and it treats for flukes.it looks like it could be fungal infection?

Api general cure and all other general cures are junk, the chance of a fungus is slim to none in saltwater.did you read through the thread??

Flukes are easily treatable with freshwater dips (use ro water and adjust for temp/ph) for about 2 mins. Get a turkey baster and gently blow the flukes off the fish. They will come right off. They are usually around the gill/eye and fin areas.

I've done this many times and had very good success and didn't cost much.

Ok I am think this is my problem.I'm heading to my Lfs to get some prozi pro, I'm going to try and catch the two fish and put them back in qt. Now my question is how long to keep my reef tank free of fish before putting them back in it?

It's done! Went to my Lfs and got some prozi ,caught the fish and put them in a fresh water bath for 3 minutes and treated the qt . They are stressing now.but hopefully they will pull through.there was some small particles in the bottom of the bowl from the fresh water bath, but I'm not sure if they were flukes or not.all I can say is this sucks! I lost four fish so far.

They are still alive! No signs of the flukes, no white patches, thier eyes are cleared up.all I can say is thanks for saving my fishes.

I just wish I could of caught it before I lost 4 of my fish.from now on new dish will get a freshwater bath within 24 hours of being added to my qt and prazi will be added to the qt.

Crap! My yellow tang has spots on him again and there are some black specs on his dorsal fin and white spots on his fins.I dosed another dose of prazipro and gave him a fresh water bath but the stuff is still on him. So now I think he has ick .I'm scheduled to do a water change tomorrow from the first dose of prazipro I did sat.should I start a cupermine treatment now? Or should I start it tomorrow with another dose of prazipro after 5 gallon water change in my 10 gallon qt? This is getting so frustrating!
