Clown "attacked" me Squamosa!!!

SINNERMF

So I came home from work earlier this weak and noticed the "mouth" of my clam wasn't open, the clam was open but not the "mouth". So I was sitting there just looking at things and one of my clowns went over and bite the "mouth" area and went crazy!!! Ever since then the clam does not open all the way and most of the time it is almost all the way closed with just 1 side of the mantle sticking out. So is he going to recover from this is or...??? Any insight??
Thanks,
Mike

my clowns live in a couple of my clams, they dont bother the clams though. when you say mouth are you refering to the inhalent siphon? Its a slit with fringes around it? maybe the clown is trying you stimulate the clam as if it were an anemone? I know some of the clowns seem to be confused I guess it is their instinct?
good luck with it, if you can why dont you remove the clam for a few minutes and re-arrange a little bit and maybe the clown will move on to something else, these clowns seem to be kind of dumb, and if you move the clam they might not find it, depending on how big the tank is.

my clown sometimes "hosts" my crocea and offers it food, I dont see him in there often but he dosen seem to bother him or look threatened.....recently my clam hasnt been open all the way is there a chance my clown is doing this also, or because I increased the flow in my tank?

ive had the clam for 2 years, the clown for about 1.5

Well its been all the way open for about 2 days now. The slit still looks a little funny but its all the way open. The clown hasn't bothered it since.
