Clown Attacking SPS

My clown fish has recently started to snip and peck at my montipora cap and unsure what to do or why its pecking at it? any suggestions?

I would go with the above user post and also, is there any algae on it from recent die off?

the montipora died and has some algae on it, but it recently died i think just because it was nipping at it, but its the smaller clown nipping at it while the bigger one stays near the anemone.

+1. They are pretty aggressive when they do this. My male does this frequently. The female chips in every once in a while, and sometimes develops a while mark on her lip because of it. Since they like to lay on flat, smooth surfaces, your dead monti sounds like the perfect location.

well this is awesome then who cares about my monti haha, now i just have to find out how to raise the hatch-lings when it happens

There are quite a few clown breeders. I may dive in as well. Many people who have clowns have pairs that regularly spawn, but they just let the larvae go (food for the tank).
