Clown decided she wanted a host

My A. percula finally picked out a host, but did she choose the long tentacle anemone?

No.

Did she pick the haddoni?

No.

She likes the feather duster

I guess I should admit that I know neither anemone is a natural A. percula host, and say that the LTA was mia and assumed dead at the time the Haddoni was purchased. It crawled out of the rockwork about a week after I bought the Haddoni and has tripled in size since.

Wow. You should trade in those anemones for one that your clown will actually like, although she does look very fasinated with that feather duster! :lolspin:

ha ha, yeah like we can't see her hiding in there! Who's she fooling!

Not much protection either. If a predator came, the feather duster would shoot back into its tube and the clown would be left trying the "I am closing my eyes so I can't see you, which means you can't see me" method of hiding. Or she would try to shoot into the tube with the duster. Could you image seeing a clown shaped body in the tube? It would be so obvious.

She is adorable though! And the "feathers" look wonderful against her orange body.

Don't give up hope! Mine lived in a bed of hair algae on the unreachable back wall of my tank for a year until they finally discovered the two huge BTAs in my tank.

Mine have takin a liking to my Koralia

A couple more of her, she only hosts at night after lights out so I have to take pics with flash on and hope I get a decent shot in the dark.

Second pic is from end of tank instead of front.

That's hilarious! Don't fret, my A. perc made house in a cluster of green star polyps for probably 4 months, completely ignoring both BTAs I have in the tank. Then one day for no reason...now he and my A. ocellaris both make their home in the BTAs.
Very cool pictures though!

lmao. I love it. How many people can claim that about there clownfish :-)

A year ago, I had 2 baby Ocellaris clowns and three tube anemones (I still have the nems). Anyway, the male clown thought that they were hostable nems, and, well, later that day, I only had the female. It was pretty sad, but at least I didn't have to feed the nem that week!
