clown fish hosted anemone

Hi,
I have a question about my clown fish and anemone. I bought 2 baby clown fish and an anemone from a lfs and they were already hosted to the anemone when I bought them, I brought them acclimated the clowns and anemone together before putting them in my tank. They were both swimming in, out, and around the anemone, until the anemone moved. The anemone moved to the other side of my tank, and after it did that only 1 clown will swim in, out, and around the anemone. When the other clown tries to go anywhere near the anemone the one that is still hosting it will chase it away and will not let it get anywhere near it. Is this common, and is there anyway that I can help the other clown that has also hosted this anemone be able to go back to it? Would getting a couple more clowns possibly stop the clown from chasing the other one away from the anemone?

This, in my experience, is quite common. Only one of my clowns is hosted by my GBTA and does chase the other away at times. And imho, getting more clowns will do nothing to stop that behavior.

The dominant clown has now claimed their territory. The other clown will not be accepted unless they pair off. Give them time, as they get bigger things might change. But if the dominant clown turns into a female and beats up the male, you might have to isolate one of them.

+ 1 to the above post! This is pretty common in occurance compared to what I have seen in the past decade and a half of reefing.

Agree, common for dominant clown to take possesion, give it time and she should share it w/ mate.
