Clown fish possibly sick?

Hello everyone,

I am relatively new to the hobby, and today I noticed that one of my clownfish appears to look somewhat "dusty", that's the best way I can think to describe it. I am also attaching a picture. He seems to be moving slower as well. Does this sound like any particular disease? And information is greatly appreciated!

My first guess would be Brooklynella or Trichodina, but Amyloodinium may also be a possibility.

A bacterial infection on its own or in combination with the above can also not be excluded.

Brooklynella, Trichodina and the like can usually be treated with a single or series of formalin baths.

Amyloodinium would require Chloroquine Phosphate.

Against bacterial infections you would need antibiotics.

What other fish are in the tank? All will need to be treated in a separate treatment tank while the display tank stays without fish for at least 6 weeks.

Thanks for the reply. Currently the tank has the two ocellaris clowns and a firefish. So with Brooklynella, would I need a quarantine tank to hold all three fish for the 6 week period, and a separate tank in order to do the formalin baths?

You would need at least 2 QT so that one can be sterilized while the other is in use.
Key is that the fish are moved to a disease free tank after the formalin bath.
