Once clowns begin to spawn, this process will be repeated quite frequently for months, then stop for a while, then the process starts again. There is two major hurtles to deal with.
1.-getting newly hatched fry from the DT to the hatching tank. If you place a small piece of clay pottery near where they stay (can be a broken piece laid against the rock where they stay) and the hopes are that they lay their eggs on this or any other piece of substrate that can be easily removed (this is key). You want the parents to look after the eggs until hatch day, then get them out before they are lunch. While hatching time varies a bit, it's usually around 14-21 days after spawn. Eggs are ready to move when the eyes go silver. Hatching is almost if not always at night, 1-3 hours after lights out. Place the rock or clay in the hatching tank which must be identical in water and temp to the DT. Place an airstone in the hatching tank so that you have a very gentle flow across your eggs, this keeps them clean.
2. You must have on hand 7-21 days of Rotifers gut loaded with phyto and Selcon to feed your fry after hatch, they have only enough nutrition on board for about 12 hours.
Rotifers must be kept in the water consistently for about 7-10 days an then you can try a bit of pulverized flake. Slowly transition your fry from Rotifers over the following two weeks.
If you can this far (about a month after hatch) metamorphism will occur and losses will drop significantly. As an example, if I get 200 fry, I will lose about half in the first 7, another 25 in the following 21 days, maybe 10 do not complete metamorphosis, so for each hatch I get 50-60.
Breeding clownfish is a whole different twist on this hobby. You will make mistakes, but learn from each.
Hopes some of this helps
