Clown Host Mushroom?

Is it possible for a clown to host mushrooms? About a week ago my clown has been hanging out by the cave where my firefish resides to at night and the rock is covered in mushrooms. The clown has been hanging out in them recently and he even will wedge himself between them and will just relax there. Just some strange behavior I have noticed and was curious. If only he would do the same to the $50 anemone I purchased him like 6 months ago. LOL. Thanks.

No, but a mushroom could host a clown. ;) ;)

Semantics aside, yes it is very possible. Clowns have been hosted by odder things.

Yes mushrooms can play the host role for clowns. An easy fix if you do not have the proper lighting needs for an anemone.

Heres my clowns at work in their hairy mushroom colony.

Its the 48W in the 12G. The anemone is healthy by all means, have had it about 6 months, but the clown shows no interest in it what so ever.

Well learned something new today I guess lol. Just makes me a little disappointed for buying the anemone. lol Thanks.

Don't feel bad, I bought a rose and a green BTA and my perc clowns ignore both of them. They prefer to host behind the glass thermometer that's posted to the front of my tank with a small suction cup. Seriously.

I bought the anenomes as interesting pets themselves, not as clown fodder. I enjoy them for what they are. I'll admit that it WOULD be nice if the clowns paid the nem's some attention, but it's not necessary.

;)

If it makes you feel any better, I too was about to post this question when I found your thread.

I just got my clown last week but unfortunately I lost one of the two that I got. After a day of mourning, i found the other clown lying on its side on top of my purple mushroom. After a closer look, thinking it was sick, it seems to be rubbing itself against it in all sorts of ways. It won't even leave it anymore!

With a couple of torches, a frogspawn, and a hammer... I figured it go for one of those but not the mushroom!

mine hosted a feather duster , like 2 " from a gbta it took awhile but once they go nem they never go back ime
