clown hosting bta?

Last Tuesday, I got a BTA and tomato clown, both small. I was curious if there is anything I can do to entice the clown fish to host the anemone, he does not even go near it (may not know it is there). Also I was told to feed it three times a week, as I did my previous one in my old tank. Just wanted to get some opinions on that. I fed it krill and some frozen prepared food so far. If anyone has any better suggestions, let me know.

Thanks

It not the clown that host the anemone its the anemone that host the clown...;)

Anyway.I would not try and entice the clown to go in the anemone as this could cause the anemone to eat the clown. The clown has yet to get the slime coat of the anemone on his coat of slime.Therefor if the slime coat is thin the clown will be stung and could be eaten.

Feeding once a week is fine in your setup since you have proper lighting. I use cut up pieces of table shrimp to feed my anemones. I get a bag of them in the frozen sea food isle for like $5.

Clowns101 is right in that it takes time. I have a friend that had a RBTA for months with a pair of tank raised clowns and nothing ever happened between them. He found a picture on the web of a clown in an anemone and taped it to the glass next to his anemone. The next day the clowns were in the anemone. Give that a try and let us know if it works for you. Good luck!

my clowns have not hosted my GBTA for a few weeks now. still waiting for them to host it. As clowns 101 said, do not try to entice it because the clown needs to build up his slime coat. You do not want it to be stung and possibly eaten.
