I have a clown hosting in a colony of palythoas, which is right next to the anemone that I purchased with the clown (see pic). it won't host in the anemone, and it is starting really irritate the colony. Any suggestions on how i can get it to host in the anemone?

Try adding a clown that knows what an anemone is for (what I ended up doing for a clown that wouldn't associate with an anemone; the anemone hosts the clown). If the clowns pair up slowly separate the anemone and the palys.
Or just give it more time. Clowns sometimes change their address a few times before they settle down.

thanks, but I bought the clown and the anemone together because it was hosting the clown in my LFS. plus, i moved the anemone close to the palys after i noticed the clown spending too much time over there. i'm not sure why it chose the palys they are stinging the heck out it.

Is that a wild Solomon or PNG percula?
My experience with them is that some of them are quite picky and take pretty much everything over the "wrong" anemone. My first pair passed on a BTA, a malu and a crispa and rather used a ceramic flowerpot, green star polyps and a montipora as hosts. The only anemone they accepted instantly was a purple gigantea - their natural host.
