Clown laying on the sand

Hey guys,

My lfs got 2 captive bred black/white false percs in yesterday and i picked one up today. I traded in the clown I got last wednesday, the one that never stopped swimming back and forth except to check out the various corals and my tooth brush through the glass...

Well the 2 new clowns were being held in the same aquarium as all the other captive bred clowns, but were sectioned off in a hand net. Both of them were swimming around in the small space and the one i chose was pestering the other one. When i got back home and switched out the fish the new one swam a little bit and then went to rest on the bottom of the sand. I netted him again and fed him inside the net some spectrum .5mm pellets. While in the net he kept swimming as well. However when i let him go again he immediately drifted back down to the sand bed. Is this a really bad thing, it contrasts so much with what the other clown was doing.

It's not good. The first suspicion would be the gills, [scant oxygen uptake] which could be brook or ich, just not broken out yet. I'd treat both.

Seems like he was just a little tired from the shipping from Puerto Rico to my Lfs, then to my house the very next day.

Soon after the lights went out the clown swam up into the water column. Seems he spent the night riding the return flow from the HOB refuge. As of this morning and pretty much the entire day he has picked out a spot in the corner of the tank. Im guessing its one of the lowest flow areas in the tank atm, as i just recently had to redirect an output away from it due to an angry frogspawn frag.

Here is an update pic now that i have batteries for my camera.
