Clown Nutrition and Anenome Behavior Questions

i have two questions that i hope could be answered here.

first, im trying to provide a more healthier diet for my true perc pair. they are WC from papa new guinea; had them for about 9 months now. i am feeding them formula one flakes, but would like to feed them a mix of seafood, like squid, krill, cyclop, etc. i tried feeding them mysis today but they seemed to ignore it. they would peck at it but would not eat it. im guessin its because they're not used to the texture of the mysis... since i noticed they wouldnt eat the mysis, i tried the formula one. they ignored that too...so im thinking, should i starve them for a couple days and then try introducing a new diet? is that the right approach for them to start eating a more varied diet?

second, i bought an awesome gbta with pink tips yesterday, but when i put it into the tank, it deflated. my first thought was, "my params must be off!!!" but all params are normal. then i noticed something come out of its mouth. i thought the anenome was reverting itself, but i noticed it was pooping...i thought wow close call. but since then, the anenome moved itself from the rock i brought him home with, and is hiding under a piece of rock in a crevice. i know it is prob adjusting to the new environment, so im waiting for him to come out...i just want to know how long, thru your experiences, take for the anenome to come out? i am afraid it might die because it wont eat or sustain itself with the zooxethlene.

i guess i have to play the waiting game.

your opinions will greatly help the success of my fish and anenome...please feel free to chime in with anything.

thanks

Your fish (and anemone) should eventually take the frozen mysids. Feed them the HUFA enriched type.
Did you acclimate the anemone? It probably shrunk as a reaction to it's new environment.

the anenome was acclimated...its hiding in a hole for right now...im just waiting for him to come out...i can see him on the other side of the hole so i know he's doing ok...just a bit shy

Try making your own blender mush--little bits of fish, shrimp, squid, mysis, algae, cyclopeeze, etc. My fish all go nuts for it. Just make a small batch, freeze it into thin sheets in baggies and break off what you need to feed.

yea...ive seen on melev's that he makes his own stuff right? im planning on making them my own blend...what kind of algae can you feed them? is japanese nori (sushi seaweed) good? i heard they love that stuff but i have to buy the plain without salt one at the market, right? i want my true perc pair to grow even more and i think they're not growing because of the diet i feed them...i'll see what i can come up with this weekend.

oh and a merry christmas to all.
thanks
