ive had lots of different clownfish in the past.. i currently have a Darwin clown (black ocellaris) and a rose bubble tip anemone in my 40 breeder. this is the only clown that ive had so far that doesnt host an area of the tank. in my experience clowns usually pick an area of the tank and stick to it or end up hosting a anemone or coral. this guy swims all over the place just like a tang or wrasse would.

anyways, the last week or so ive found him in the rbta but only after lights out. hes still there in the morning for a bit but after the halide kicks on he leaves the anemone and starts wandering the tank again. anybody else experience this with any type of clown? if so did he or she end up in/around the anemone full time or what?

My clarkiis do this all the time. Sleep in the nem and swim around all day. The nems in the wild are for protection, but since there is nothing in my tank that will eat them, I guess they feel free to move away from their host.
