Clown Question

I had a mated pair of Ocellaris clowns for a few years but when I moved to a larger tank recently I lost the female of the pair. I looked and looked but could not find her it was the strangest thing. I would like to try to pair the male up again but don't know how I should go about trying to do so. Should the fish I buy be bigger or smaller than the one I have now?

How long has the male been alone? If it has been more than 2 weeks I would get a smallar one to be on the safe side.

If I didn't find a body, I'd probably keep looking, maybe sump?
Anyway, safest would be take your time, add a very small male when you find a good score.
But agree, if you found a new female right away may get lucky, as long as male isn't all confused looking for/waiting for mom to show up.

Thanks for the reply. As far as finding the original female, I have looked everywhere. The old system has been taken down. I even whent as far as to look in the old plumbing. I figured she was holed up in a piece of live rock but never showed her face in the new tank. It has been a couple of months since the switch so I'm guessing that the window has closed for getting a new one in there right away! So I guess I'll be keeping an eye out for a little clown to try.
