clown question

can i put two clowns in a 20 long? there is only one other fish in there its a scooter blenny. and i know not to put two different clowns together or put like a marroon in there.

Pls. remove the blenny he will die. And 2 clowns of same species fine and the smaller the better,they will become male and female after they decide whos who.

im sorry but my blenny eats whatever i put in the tank from mysis to prime reef flakes to pods. hes been in there almost a year and a half. or i should say she.

Good to here.Mine doesnt eat any of the wide variety of food i supply and was trying to help. No response on the clown thing just the scooter thing?

at first my blenny didnt eat any of those. i had a manderin in my 36 yess i know thats why i had a manderin. i didnt have the internet and was listening to my lfs, thats also why i have pc lights and not mh. i was thinking either the true perc or the onyx clown but the onyx around here goes for 60+$ and thats not for a pair of them. im getting dual 150's as soon as i get my tax return. what do you think for the clowns? i used to have a onyx and a nem but the lfs was wrong and the nem died when i was at work the next morning all my fish were dead, none of my corals seemed to be affected and the scooter was the only fish to make it, she also made 2 moves and 2 tank switches. i got her to eat mysis by buying the pods and mixing mysis with them then just slowly stoped feeding the pods and went all mysis. i cant just put mysis in a powerhead has to be on to make the food move.

You can put 2 clowns of the same species in there no problems. Get a large one and a small one - then they should pair fairly quickly. If you add 2 small ones you will have to wait a long time for one of them to become female. I would suggest ocellaris or true percs as they tend to be less aggresive to you and other fish.

I would definately go with the ocellaris or percs. Maroons get much larger and would be much happier in a larger tank. You might be able to pull it off though.

Amphiprion ocellaris ,percula or perideraion(pink skunk clown) should be fine. But only two or one of the same species. I'm sure you know this but if you get two mature ones you may wind up with two females and that won't work. Juveniles or one juvenile and one adult its a better bet.Most amphiprion live their entire lives in an area of about one cubic meter which makes them ideal aquarium fish.
