Clown recommendation

I know in a forum dedicated to this topic that there are probably a few that have kept a combination of clowns. If you had to do it again, what pair would you have in your tank? And also why that choice? Thanks in advance. Am looking forward to hearing people's opinions...and hey, it's friday night

Pink Skunks, because they're cool. After 38 years of owning- and rarely seeing a SW tank without- OCs or Percs, the common vertical bands get old. Sebaes and designers aren't much different, and Cinnamons, Maroons, and Tomatos just get too large and aggressive.

In species tank, anything is a go. Whatever clowns and anemone you like. In a community reef tank, I tend to avoid larger more aggressive clown fish. I love to keep very nice Percula pair or Pink skunk in Gigantea or Magnifica. Either will do just great in community tank. In scpecies tank, other than the above clowns, I love to get a good pair of Black foot clowns with a nice Magnifica.

personally, I don't particularly like the look of skunks or tomatoes. I love love love my maroon. She is not very aggressive, adds some unusual color (when thinking clownfish) and just has such a neat personality. Of all the clowns we've had, the gold stripe maroon is by far my favorite. She is also the one clown weve ever had that feeds her nem. She snatches meaty pieces (or ghost shrimp) when we feed the corals or lion fish, and darts right back to her anemone to feed it.

I personaly love my black ocellaris and black phantom! I originally started the hobby not wanting standard ol Nemo, but after I got my first B&W and wanting a mate for him, I broke down and got a regular Ora orange. Then a few months ago I got my first snowflake and black ice, at the same time... now I want to get rid of both my standard striped clowns lol. Now I have two snowflakes

Just three weeks ago however I got a black phantom and paired him with my black ice (until I get another phantom, with/after my Wyoming white)

Long story short, if you want unique and beautifully sharp looking, go with the phantom/black snowflake if you can find and aford them lol. Or the other one for unique is any type of snowflake ocellaris or Picasso percula, or platinum/Wyoming white if you dig the white clownfish (I think they are awsome, like clowns in straight jackets or snow suits lol.

You need to go with what you like IMO.

I'm on my second go round and I picked perculas. I loved my Maroon, but the older and bigger she got the meaner she got. After she killed all my corals, she started knocking over all the rocks.

My occellaris had lot's of personality and my percs were kind of boring in that aspect.

So many people have picassos anymore they're almost common now.

For a community tank with passive fish, IMO percs are the best. Classic colors, and great dispositions. For more aggressive community tanks, I like melanopus (coral sea/melanesia), bicinctus, nigripes, chrysopterus, and clarkii (certain kinds). Species tank, I'd go with yellow stripe maroon.
