Clown Tang - Behavior

I have purchased a small, 2in, Clown Tang this past Thursday. Every once in awhile he will swim around the tank checking things out and showing the other fish that he's the new boss. But most of the time, when he is not behind the rock work, he stays in the front corner swimming up and down. And that's about 95% of the time. Is this normal? Is he still getting use to his new environment? Is this a sign of stress? I offered nori on a vegi-clip but he didn't touch it. I hoping he is still getting use to his new environment but if any body can in lighten me to the cause of this behavior I would appreciate it.

This is likely a sign of stress. Clown tangs have a difficult time adapting to captivity. They graze vast territories in the wild and most of our tanks are too small to properly house them. CTs are also extremely aggressive and often terrorize other fish when they get bigger. In addition, they require a ton of flow and pristine water conditions. What are the dimensions of your tank? How much flow do you have?

I've noticed most of my new fish swim with noses against the glass for a few days until they figure out the dimensions of the tank.

I've had my clown tang for about a year now, he was about 2-3" when I got him now is about 6-7". He eats flake, spectrum pellets, but goes crazy for the frozen lifeline cubes always soaked in vitamins.
Somone mentioned flow they are very correct of flow when I trun my valves down to feed I do see agression in certain fish.
I was told the more flow the better because it actually tricks the fish thinking they are still in the ocean.

Stress
They love flow and will stay in it. Mine used to swim around, but prefered eating off of the koralia's. Got it to feed off of the clip by tearing off small pieces of seaweed and letting it get blown around on it's side of the tank until it liked it and wanted more.
They love to swim and looking at your upgrade status you won't be afraid to do so in the future for this fish. Keep up with the mixed foods in front of it. They are super eaters once you get them to

Last night was feeding time. He seemed to keep to him self, staying in a cave where he got a nice chunk of mysis. I think I'll try some flake food next time. Any recomindation's on what kind?

Rubberband some nori soaked in garlic and selcon to a rock and place it in his corner. Keep him fed as much as you can. Take the fod to him until he ventures out and dominates. If you plan on keeping him you have to go over the top to accomodate this fish

Yea, as I said in my first post, I tried the nori on a veggi-clip but he didn't go for it. I even put it in the same area where he swims along the glass. I'll try wrapping the nori around a small piece of rock to see if he likes that better.

I went through the same thing and that is the only thing that worked for me. Slowly I could move it and lure him out until he was finally swimming the tank comfortably
