Clown tang with others

In a 125g w 60g sump. Just wanted to see opinions on those that have tried more than one tang with a clown tang.

I was planning a clown tang with a naso and maybe a YT in the 125, but after researching I see that the CT seems too aggressive to house with other tangs unless in a huge tank which I dont have.

IMO, your tank is too small for a Naso and way too small for a Clown Tang. Nothing will bring out the aggression in an aggressive fish like being cramped. I've kept a CT in a 240 with a couple of purple tangs and it didn't go well. This is one species of tang that just isn't worth a lot of effort to me. This one acted more like a Sohal; attacking any other fish just because he could.

agree with Tuskfish...

with regards to the Atlantic...beauty is in the eye of the beholder...add fish that appeal to you...imo, they can be quite beautiful...

Long term even that's likely to be too small for the CT. I've seen them wipe out fish in tanks much larger than that.

Yes. Its almost as if Clown Tangs and Clown triggers shared a gene or two. I once had a Clown Tang mortally knife three larger fish in less than 4 hours. Not wussy victims, either.

yes, large ct can become evil sobs...as they grow their aggression comes out more and more...very similar to clown trigs- all attitude..they just dont care...

Def not advocating getting one just sharing my experience. I have a CT in my 210 and have for a little over a year, he is housed with my naso, yellow and mata ( who is being caught this weekend ) The clown and the mata HATE each other but other than that the clown doesnt bother anyone else. He is a gorgeous but mean SOB. 7-8 inches and growing like a weed. lol

Had my clown tang since Jan. 2005.180g peninsula tank.Low fish population...2 yellow ,1 sailfin tangs...2 maroon clowns and an allens damsel...No problems.

Auto correct on the iPad, my bad on the "nano" it was suppose to be naso. I was referring to the original thread poster
